A new mid-size luxury sedan from Infiniti debuts this year. The 2011 M37 replaces the M35 in Infiniti’s luxury sedan lineup, and is aimed to compete directly with European rivals. As expected, this Infiniti is packed with high tech luxury and safety features. Starting under $50,000, the M37 has a price advantage over European counterparts that are similarly equipped.The M37 is available in a rear wheel drive, or in the M37x version which adds all wheel drive. The power plant is an impressive 3.7 liter DOHC 24-valve V6 that outputs 330 horse power and 270 pound feet of torque. The transmission is a high-tech seven speed automatic with manual paddles and four shift modes (Snow, Eco, Standard, and Sport). Eco mode provides the best fuel economy and Sport the fastest performance, holding gear longer while accelerating or turning into a corner.
The key words describing the looks of the all new M37 are “aggressive” and “sleek.” It looks ready to pounce on an unsuspecting Audi or Mercedes with its bulging fender flares and large grill. The 18-inch alloy wheels with V-speed-rated high performance tires are standard. So are automatic bi-xenon headlights, power-folding mirrors, sunroof, and keyless ignition.
